Will Facebook’s New Rules Really Stop Kids from Overscrolling?Facebook

Will Facebook’s new rules really stop kids from overscrolling and becoming addicted? First of all, I do not think so. Almost every kind of age verification can be cheated in some way, even face scans.

For example, how can kids cheat a face scan? One way is to use their parents’ faces. It can actually be pretty easy. A kid could simply walk close to a parent and scan their face, and sometimes the parent might not even realize what the child is doing. Kids can also type in a different age when they create an account. It does not take much effort to enter an older age.

If Facebook tries to identify younger users by the way they type or by whether they use informal language, that could also be difficult. People can simply change the way they write and use more formal language. Also, not every adult writes formally. Many adults also use casual language online and like to scroll through social media, so it would be hard for Facebook to tell someone’s age just from the way they communicate.

Another important question is how Facebook can really keep its promise when its business depends so much on user engagement. Facebook wants people to stay on the platform and keep using it. The entire system is designed to keep users scrolling for as long as possible. This makes it difficult for the company to limit how much young people use the platform while also trying to keep users engaged.

Even if Facebook follows the new regulations, kids may still find ways around them. I have seen how quickly kids can figure out ways to get around age-verification systems. Roblox is a huge company, but even its security systems have had problems that users have been able to bypass.

There are also websites and tools that claim they can help people get around these systems. I remember seeing a device that cost about ten dollars. You could plug it into a computer, and it claimed to help people bypass Roblox’s age-verification system. When we look at how quickly kids can learn ways around rules, it seems likely that some people will always try to create new methods to defeat these systems.

In summary, I think that no matter what Facebook does, there will probably always be some way for people to get around the system. These new rules may make it harder for some kids to access certain features, but they probably will not completely stop them. When kids really want to do something, they can be very determined to find a way around the rules.
