Is Selling More Weapons to Israel a Smart Choice for the U.S.?

The war involving Iran has become increasingly unpopular among many Americans, and there still seems to be no clear end in sight. In my opinion, increasing weapons sales to Israel may not be the smartest choice for the United States because sending more weapons does not solve the larger problem of how the war will eventually end.

One major problem is that it is difficult to define what victory would actually look like. If victory means occupying Iran or completely defeating its military, that would require a much larger commitment than the United States appears willing to make. Without a clear political and military goal, supplying more weapons could allow the fighting to continue without creating a realistic path toward ending the war.

Geography also makes the conflict difficult. Iran is a very large country, and conducting air operations over long distances creates challenges involving fuel, range, bases, and logistics. Even powerful aircraft and weapons cannot automatically solve these problems. This means that increasing the number of bombs available may strengthen military operations, but it does not necessarily solve the strategic problems behind the war.

Another issue is public support. Many Americans do not want to see more people killed in a conflict if the purpose and end goal are unclear. The United States also has to consider its own military resources and whether continuing to supply large numbers of weapons is the best use of them.

In summary, I do not think selling more weapons by itself is a smart solution. Military power can help accomplish specific goals, but only when those goals are clearly defined. If there is no realistic plan for how the conflict ends, adding more weapons may simply make a long war even longer.
